PLEASE HELP-!!having trouble with my emails!!

Hi All
Sorry for being a bit thick, i'm not too good with computers!!:o
My problem is as follows:

I don''t seem to be able to open any emails from my laptop. its never been a problem before but suddenly started last week.
I'm able to sign in ok, and can see the list of emails, but it won't let me do anything else eg: open, read, send, or delete any emails.
I've tried on a different device, and i'm able to do all of the above with no problem.
Please, any help or suggestions will be much appreciated!

Many thanks in advance

Are you using an email client? If so, which one? And what happens when you, say, try to open an email? Is anything displayed in the preview pane (you may need to turn on the preview pane to check, if it's currently disabled).

(P.S. An email client is a program to view emails that's installed on you computer; as opposed to webmail, where you view your emails by visiting a website.)

    hi.

    Thanks for the reply.
i view my emails through outlook.com and it is a hotmail account.
When i try to open an email, it highlights grey ( usually highlights bright blue) then nothing happens. normally it would open automatically once clicked on.
When i click on the 'new' button, nothing happens.
The icons along the top (eg: delete) are not appearing.
    Its all very strange!!!

Which web browser are you using? Have you tried a different browser on the same machine?

No worries! Glad you got it sorted. It sounds like Chrome was having problems with the Outlook.com site.

If you wanted to use Chrome, you could try clearing the cache. Open Chrome, hit CTRL+SHIFT+DELETE (together), tick the box labelled "Cached images and files", then click the "Clear browsing data" button.

If that doesn't work, you could try creating a new profile in Chrome. Sometimes profiles become corrupted, so creating a new "clean" one might help. If you follow the instructions in the link below to create a new person, then switch to that person, that might fix the problem.

Or just use Firefox if that's easier! :)
