USB memory device not recognised on Hudl 1

It's a Lexar 32gb and it always worked on my Hudl before but now refuses to work what ever I do. Rebooting etc makes no odds.
It works perfectly on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, on laptop and on the TV.
Other USB memory devices work fine on the Hudl.
Any ideas?
