Thanks for the tip- was about to go blow all my points tomorrow before the 1st, will hold out and see what happens.
They need to up their game or get rid of the card IMO, if this is supposed to be (from the customer's point of view) solely a marketing ploy to pull in customers it's not going to interest anyone It looks like it's only still in existence to complete their marketing tallies on what is purchased per customer- seems the card is now mainly for Sainsbury's to gather data rather than a card (even if under the pretence) of benefitting customers- if anyone can really be bothered to use the card anymore anyway...0 -
I can’t see any reference to this offer on Ebay, can you post a link please? Thanks.
This was reported online last year.
Selected users of ebay/nectar (cannot remember which one ran the offer) got e-mails with an offer to spend their nectar points on ebay and they would get 50% of them back at a set date in the future.
Personally thought it was a no brainer when i read about it so eagerly awaited the e-mail.....
Seems I was not one of those selected users.
But enough confirmed it to be certain that it was a real offer.
I am guessing there is a current version of this offer knocking about.
Might be worth having a quick scan of the e-bay/nectar e-mails in your inbox to check if you got one.
Ah heres the thread i was thinking of:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5120122Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.0 -
Sainsbury's offer of 2 points per £ , brought in years ago, was intended to make them look good, but as the points were half value, there was no gain.0

The op had got me worried for a while as I was hoping Sainsbury, before the big clawback, would have one final double value promo like the one a couple of months ago.
It looks like my nectar points are safe for a few weeks more while I try and find the best way to use them.
I also predict that this move is going to backfire. With shoppers already moving away from the big supermarkets, the trend may accelerate for Sainsbury out of sheer spite. This time next year expect them to announce in a fanfare of publicity that they will be doubling the value of nectar points.(In other words back to where we are now)0 -
When Sainsbury's reduced the Nectar point earning rate they said that they were going to introduce more targeted points earning offers. They have set up My Coupons to implement these targeted offers (I can't post links yet, sorry)....0

Unfortunately, the in-store SIMs were the wrong size, so they had to send me a nano-SIM, which failed to arrive, so I called again and they told me that they'd had problems getting them sent out.
One finally came towards the end of January, and I put it in last Thursday; however, the free credit still hasn't been applied, apparently it can take up to 7 days.
(I'm not entirely optimistic about that...)
So, the idea that a targeted offer can take over two months may not really be a great incentivising scheme, IMHO.0 -
TBH the few (up to 5) offers of what works out to 10p off something costing £1.59 and then 40p off something costing £4... is pretty megre and so much of a faff it wont have me shopping there even more- far from it; I'm now less likely to shop there unless I've been online to check any new offers on the coupon site where as before I'd just go to the nearest supermarket if I needed to restock things.0
