N Power complaint - no help on this site!
I placed the following request for advice and help on the forum recently - "Default N Power Dispute re Gas PP Meter
Despite having been on PP Meter for over three years with N Power Gas, they insist we are over £300 in arrears - this is despite initially being £96 in credit!
We have constantly complained regarding this as we believe that N Power have mixed up the outstanding bill with that of the previous tenant. They keep sending us her bill of surprisingly, £300+!
We even asked to transfer in December to EDF by using this forum, they refused to allow the exchange until the outstanding amount was paid off.
They have now been taking over £6+ from every £10 credit we place on the PP Card. This is causing massive problems as both myself and my wife are both disabled and unable to work.
The last complaint in January has still not even had an acknowledgement. Can they continue to leave us to exist on £3 gas for every £10 we put on in credit, especially as we believe it is N Power that actually owes us money?
Advice would be appreciated as we do not know where to turn next."
Why has the N Power rep on this site refused to even acknowledge my post? This is the similar attitude from N Power, no wonder we get despondent.

When you moved in, did you note down the initial/opening meter reading? When you set up your account with Npower did you supply them an opening reading.
You say it was initially in £96 in credit? So at what point did the debt become apparent?
Are you still in the same property?
With regards to complaining:
You need to file a formal complaint by letter or email (I still think a letter carries more weight), if Npower fail to respond or solve the situation to your satisfaction within 8 week you can contact the enregy ombudsman.
They will take your complaint further.
However, if you can answer my initial question it may make the problem a bit clearer.0 -
If it's been eight weeks since you first made your complaint to Npower, you can ask the Energy Ombudsman to investigate Npower's handling of your complaint. Their website has more details: https://www.ombudsman-services.org/energy
If you haven't made an official complaint to Npower in writing, you will need to do this first.0 -
Have you gone down the usual route with cases like this ( I ve found 2 this week ) and requested a new card which would wipe off the debt and debt repayments details. These two debt screens are seen on screens 26 and 27 on your gas meter , only available to see with card inserted. The supplier would need to see your tenancy agreement and date of moving in as proof you are not the same occupier. Any overpayment would be repaid once they ve seen a copy of your tenancy agreement.
If there is no debt on 26 and 27 ,has a debt from a previous address followed you to this new address ?0
