Expansys - Can't get a refund without a printer?

Hi!

I'm new here and was hoping someone could give me some advice.

I ordered an item from expansys before Christmas. It never arrived. I've mailed them asking what to do about it. They sent me a form to fill in, sign and send back to them. Unfortunately I have no access to a printer so am unable to do this. Mailed them back and was told it was fine I could fill in the form on my PC and send it back to them that way so I did. I was then sent mail telling me that I had to sign it. To which I again explained that I have no printer. I was told that they cannot proceed with a refund without me signing the form.

So.. Do I really have to have a printer to claim a refund from them? If I knew this was the case I'd never have ordered from them. Naturally I'll never order from them again. However I really want my money back. I feel like I've had it stolen.

Can anyone advise me on what to do?

Thank you
Fiona

Ask a friend/neighbour if they will print it?

  • I don't have any access to a printer in my current situation. I'm trying to find out if this is legal for them to do or if there is anywhere I can read up about it. It's a ridiculous situation that someone has to have a piece of hardware available to process a refund. I can't find it anywhere on their site that says it's a must either.

You won't like this answer either...

Go down the library and print it.

You don't need a printer just access too one....
If they need you to sign the form for a refund then thats what you need to do..
Have you asked if they will post a copy out?

If all else fails {ie you either can't or won't find a way to do what they ask} try explaining your position to the link below and perhaps he will wave the instructions you have been given but reading reviews of the company I would not hold my breath

  • Unfortunately, I don't have access to a printer. This includes access to a library printer/friends printer. I, happily, have the sensibility to have considered those sorts of options before posting here to see if I could find anything else out.

I've asked them if they'll send me out a form so I can sign and send it back but they conveniently ignored the request. I'd be perfectly happy to do that. I simply don't have access to a printer so I can't do as they ask and they appear to be refusing to meet me in the middle. If I'd have even considered this to be an issue before ordering I'd never have placed the order. I've not had an issue like this with any other company, they are the first I've met who seem to find it inconceivable that I don't have access to a printer.

Thanks for the link, London50, I'll check it out. Also be interested to hear from anyone else who could suggest any potential printerless options.

    Thanks.

Type your name and national insurance number or driving licence number and/or date of birth on the line where your signature should go. That might work.

    OP, Google has your answer.

    www.doxdirect.com

You upload your document, they print it and send it back to you to sign.
You then post it to Expansys.

Of course, it might be cheaper to buy a printer.
  • I think Google chrome has an extension called "HELLOSIGN" that you could try.
