A few questions after a offer is accepted?

Me and my partner are hopefully going to get an offer accepted in the 5 days on a 2 bed flat. The reason we have been told why the vendor will choose us is because we have a mortgage in principle and are first time buyers that can move when ever. The vendors are also in the same boat and they need to move out of there property as soon a possible so are happy to get things going quickly. One problem though is that our mortgage in principle runs out in two weeks ( not too sure if that causes a problem). Our friend of the family (mortgage broker) who has handled lots of my families mortgages has got us a solicitor quote for £800 plus VAT, is that a good deal? Also what else should I put in place as soon as I get the offer accepted? What should all the other costs come too? Our Stamp duty is £1,100....

    A MIP is meaningless at this stage. You will need to apply formally for a mortgage once the offer is accepted.

    £800 is impossibe to assess without a full breakdown of what it includes/excludes. Read


    Decide what kind of survey you want if any. The mortgage lender will get a surveyor to do a 'Valuation Survey' for themselves. Often it is cheaper to get the same surveyor to do a Homebuyers survey at the same time - but not alway/
