External Letterbox for leasehold flat

Hi all.
I am buying a leasehold flat and hopefully exchanging contracts very soon. I have had a look through the exchange pack and i have asked my solicitor to ask the freeholder if it would be possible to put an external letterbox on the outside wall of the flat, change the kitchen, boiler and bathroom to see if permission is needed but all that was fine, however i have not heard back about the letterbox.
Do i really need permission from the freeholder to add a letterbox on the outside wall? There is nothing stated in the lease except for making structural changes, would this affect it?
Many thanks
