Glossing behind spindles against a wall advice.

Hi.
I live in a 4yr old house and the glossed bannister is requiring reglossing.
The way the stairs are the bannister and spindles run along a wall about 2 inches away from the wall. Nightmare.
Any idea how I can get the gloss to the rear of the bannister and spindles. I am thinking cover the wall and then apply gloss to rear with some sort of pad???
Any suggestions?!

As you say paper to protect the wall, you can get an angled radiator brush to apply the finish. May be a bit fiddly but should work ok

I think if it was me doing the job I would use a radiator roller
