Small vent about BT

I'm a BT customer (for my sins). My marketing preferences are all set to 'no marketing' and these have been honoured until Tuesday when I received a call from BT trying to flog me Infinity. After hanging up, I called BT to check my preferences and to let them know that I'd received a sales call despite asking that I don't get any.
The guy banged on about telephone preference service and how it doesn't stop calls from overseas yadda yadda and it took me a few repeated attempts at 'But I don't get overseas calls, I don't have a problem with cold calls, I have a problem with YOU' to make him understand that it was BT sales department causing the problems and that I wasn't phoning to ask for general advice about nuisance calls.
Eventually he gets my point, raises a feedback form and assures me it won't happen again.
The following morning I receive an email from BT advising me that BT Privacy at Home has been added to my account (not a clue what this is, was never mentioned on the call and I certainly haven't asked for it) and, TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, that I've stated I'm happy to receive calls about offers and services.
So basically now I'm paying £1.75 extra a month to get the exact opposite of what I want

Thanks. I believe I have it sorted now, having phoned again. It just struck me as an impressive piece of customer service - to do the exact opposite of what someone wants then charge them for the privilege"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
