Pollyanna's Savings for New House/Flat!

Apologies if this is an intrusive question but I'm curious about the changes you've made to be able to save £10000 in the space of a year when you have no savings at the moment.
Is there something you've recently cut out or been able to increase the amount you save for some other reason? It just struck me as going from £0 per month to nearly £1000 was a massive jump.
Up to last month, me and my brother (who I own my house with) were overpaying on our mortgage by about £1,000 so £500 each.
Since Christmas, I have both got a raise and am now working 4 days a week instead of 3, so have extra money (besides the £500 I was putting onto mortgage) to put into savings.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Good luck pollyanna.
I agree, though the 'How much have you saved?' board tends to be used for savings diaries. Is it worth (re)voicing the suggestion on the feedback board?veryintrigued wrote: »Mods - can we consider having a subsection created for these 'savings diary' type threads please?0 -
Just looking through my old threads and found this.
I did it! I saved £10,000 (just over) in 2015, but wouldn't mind posting this thread to my mortgage free diary. Just have to figure out how to do that.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
