Utilities on Credit Report

Options
I have direct debits paying my water & internet and I recall seeing at least one of these on a previous report...

But now they're nowhere to be seen! Surely as water is (obviously) on a credit meter at all times (how long before they bring in prepay haha) then it's going to appear on a credit report?

Does anyone know which utilities/general household bills I can get to appear on my report?

It currently just shows my 2 bank accounts and will soon show my credit card, so I've understandably got a pretty dismal score right now.
I can't add up.

    How one-sided.

I wonder if I can report my payments to the reference agencies myself and demand that it's recorded (as it's my file, not theirs) :rotfl:

Since it (almost certainly) costs them money to report, you can understand why those who don't report positive, or white, data choose to take that approach?

It's not your file. It's a file that contains your data.

With 2 banks accounts, a credit card, and a water account being reported positively, your credit history should be building adequately. Give it time.

Hopefully you meant to say credit rating/history?...ie you didn't pay for a 'number'? If you did, don't waste your money by doing it again! ;)

Oh no, I use Noddle, and I wouldn't dream of paying them.

I've been told (when I badgered equifax for 2 hours on the phone) that they keep these files for my benefit, without my permission, and I cannot have them removed or changed - even though they do very little to ensure accuracy - for reasons beyond their knowledge  slightly concerning.

Also, my issue is that the water payments aren't registered on the credit file, it's simply a credit card (hopefully) that I've just got last week, and 2 bank accounts. It's annoying because we've been assessed for a mortgage and been told we can afford far more than we thought we could, and we can save far easier than we thought we could - but it all comes down to credit report... which for me is at 1 out of 5 on Noddle (not that that means much).

Lenders like to see long held accounts.
They also like to see settled accounts.
Sounds like you can't show either of these yet.
So it's just a matter of time.

But I wouldn't get too hung up on 1/5. I've had massive levels of (stoozing) debt on current account overdrafts and credit cards and still scored 4/5 and 5/5 with Noddle. Since mortgages are secured on a property they're assessed differently to credit cards, bank accounts, etc.

I have personally found that Noddle hold very little of my data. Experian who are pretty useless on a lot of fronts - just try getting your statutory report in a hurry - hold the most comprehensive data set on my open and closed accounts.

You should check all three agencies as different companies report to different agencies.

The only people I've ever held any kind of credit record with (other than sky/water) have all shown up on Noddle. I've had a report from experian in the past, though, that didn't show anything other than my current account and a mobile phone that I had a contract with. Seems Noddle held all the stinky stuff!
