Digital Currencies

Digital currencies such as Bitcoin have many advantages: 1, can be traded anywhere; 2, unlike gold it has a finite supply; 3, difficult to steal; 4, You can buy stuff with it, unlike gold unless in a Dubai souk.
Does anyone on this forum own Bitcoins? If so where did you buy them and if they do not exist in a solid form, how do you know you hold them?

No, Bitcoin trading is somewhat limited. It's not like you can go down to Tesco and buy a tin of beans with it.

No, the supply is basically infinite. You just shift the decimal point. In any case (a) you are wrong, the amount of gold on planet earth is finite; and (b) there are lots of things that are in finite supply but are not of any particular value
    ...3, difficult to steal; ...

No, it appears quite easy to steal. See Flexcoin. See Mt Gox. Gold, on the other hand is quite hard to steal. You apparently need explosives and a fleet of Minis.

If by "stuff" you mean drugs and child !!!!!!, then yes. But otherwise the options are somewhat limited.
