NTK received from Euro Car Parks (Sainsbury's)

Long story short - I overstayed at a Sainsbury's car park where they had a 2 hour limit. This happened last year 26/08/14 and I chose to ignore all letters up until today, as I dug deeper and came across a thread where it said not to ignore it anymore because the rules have changed.

This is the second NTK letter I received. I do not have the first one as I threw it away and ignored it.

Time: 21:07
Date of issue: 26/08/2014
Date NTK was printed and sent: 18/09/2014
Breach of Terms & Conditions: Your vehicle was parked longer than the maximum period allowed.

I read somewhere on a thread that should an ANPR be used, the letter (NTK) should be sent within 14 days? I cannot remember what date the first letter was issued on as I have thrown it away. Can someone point me in the right direction of the draft sample that I should use regarding this case and who do I send it to? BPA? Euro Car Parks? POPLA?

My question is what should I do now? As I am totally confused on what steps to take. I have had a look on the newbies thread and totally lost on whether to appeal for it or if it is too late to do so?

Another question, what actually happens or what is the end result should a person continue to ignore the letters etc?

I would be very grateful if someone could solve this for me.

Thanks.

    Take the complaint to Sainsburys
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"
  • On what grounds should I base the complaint on? And I'm guessing to the manager? Bearing in mind myself and my family have been using this sainsburys for the last 15 years.

Not to the local branch - an email to the CEO or Head Office complaining about the harassment of a loyal customer. Should work.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I really am clueless on this, is there a draft letter of this available?

    Thanks

    Just write in plain English

"Bearing in mind myself and my family have been using this sainsburys for the last 15"

"about the harassment of a loyal customer"

I am sure you can come up with a few more words :-)

It does not need to be a legal letter.

  • Cheers thanks, I shall keep you updated. If this fails what are the next steps? Also what happens if you continue to ignore and not respond?

Oh come on - nothing happens except letters (piles of them) and NEWBIES thread and any other threads about ECP tell you that. Read a few threads!

And you can easily write a 2 liner email saying what I told you to say, I even gave you the phrase 'harassment of a loyal customer' so it writes itself surely? Why oh why do newbies need a template letter to write a short complaint email? You aren't the first to ask but...do you really need help to write an email?

Sorry, it's a real bugbear of mine that, seemingly, half the population can't write a poxy, simple, complaint email or letter any more without begging for a template.

I agree, seems to be almost every thread today where people cannot just apply common sense, read , research, or compose basic letters , even when a lot of the work has already been done for them on here , somewhere !

come on people , smarten up, these parking companies are not the best britain has to offer, most are not so smart, or as Judge Rinder states , STUPID !

Perhaps because they played hookie from school, failed to make the best of the hand life dealt them, and, rather than go to night school to gain qualifications, choose to watch soaps and football on the TV.
