Life after DMP

I am looking forward to the summer as after 8 years on a DMP through Stepchange (I'd highly recommend them to anyone) I shall be debt free. It's been a long and rocky road but will finally be able to hold my head up high and be £300 a month better off! Does anyone have advice as to when and how to start rebuilding my credit rating as I don't want to start too soon and wreck things with failed applications for credit. Fortunately I turned to a DMP before my debt became totally out of control with CCJ's and legal action but I know that my credit file is less than perfect! Anyone got any advice?

Time will heal. Learn to save every month. So when that unexpected cost arrives. You have money to fall back on, and don't resort to borrowing again. If you manage this. You'll find you money goes much further.0
