Scottish Power MANWEB Online Fixed Price February 2016
Don't know if this has been commented before in this forum
Just a note that people who live in the Manweb area of Scottish Power should not change to February 2016 Online Fixed Rate from the January 2016 Online Fixed Rate if they use little Gas but mostly Electric (possibly if you are on Economy 7)
I switched to February 2016 from January 2016 as site advised it when I selected best tariff on their site.
I actually checked on this forum as well and chose the February 2016 Online Fixed Rate because at the time people were saying no-one would lose from switching to The February offer.
When I finally managed to get the PDF document for February it showed that although Electric prices had gone down from the January Rate for most regions for the MANWEB area electric prices have gone up by about 4%.
Upon realising I asked not to be put on the new February rate (was in process of going through at the time).
Even their staff could not believe price for Manweb area had gone up when I pointed it out.

Below quotes are Monthly Direct Debit
In my case (Economy 7) price for units would have gone up .55p for normal and .23p off peak.
Those on normal Manweb rates (Domestic S) would see an increase of .474p per unit.
I have heard elsewhere that Scottish Power are having to suffer extra costs because they now have to bury a lot of overhead cables in North Wales (MANWEB being Merseyside And North Wales Electrity Board which SP bought years ago)
