Warning - UK Protect Windows and Doors

Interested in buying new windows and doors, my parents invited a UK Protect Windows and Doors representative to their home after they cold called them. Happy with the quote they were presented with they decided to sign up. They paid a £100 deposit and signed up for Barclays Finance to pay the balance.
Doubts set in so they started looking into the company. Their website doesn't work and when they called the representative he was evasive and asked for them to call back. When they did they received and answer message saying it was out of hours.
Further investigations show that this company is part of UK Protect Group. This company does not appear to exist.
DO NOT use this company - it is a scam.
- Never trust cold callers
- Never sign up with door to door sales men first time - alway make sure the company is legit first
- To be safe - always go with a recommended or recognised company
