PCN / VCS / Sheffield - Newbie :)

Hi everyone !
Unfortunately I've received 2 NTKs -
"one for parking without a valid permit" and
"parking without clearly displaying a valid ticket".

The NTK is from VCS.

I've had a read through the forum and am using the general template for the 1st appeal to VCS.

Parallely, I'm writing to the Store I was in both the times to cancel the PCN. Will that help at all ?

Wish me luck ! :(

You should always write to the store and sometimes they will cancel the ticket so yes it is worth doing. The store should be made aware of the problems caused by the PPC to genuine customers. Personally I would always say I was going to shop elsewhere if the ticket isn't cancelled fifthwith, but the complaint needs to go to the CEO as well as the store manager.

Well done in getting as far as sending the template appeal without having to ask questions first. This makes things much easier for the experts here as they are not continually repeating things because posters haven't done their research first. :T

    Good luck. :D

Thanks for your reply Fruitcake, Its a small store - so there is no CEO. But will write to them. Do they have to write to the parking company to cancel the PCN ? Does the store have any "right" to cancel the Ticket ? Since any agreement would be between the landowner and the parking company ?

And for the second one for "parking without clearly displaying a valid ticket" Its a bit silly because there was a valid ticket in the car, just that it was a bit in the middle and was possibly blocked from view due to the wiperblades. Bad luck. :( Would it help if I attach a photocopy of the "valid ticket" ?

    Usually, yes.

Yep but don't say 'my ticket' or 'I placed it' etc. No giving away who was driving!!

  • How should I go about getting the PCN cancelled by the store ? Should they write a letter to VCS ?

Sorry for all the questions, am just clueless about the system here.

Is there a template for PCN for "not displaying ticket clearly" ?

    Many thanks !

How should I go about getting the PCN cancelled by the store ?
Go in there and demand to speak to the store manager and brandish the offending fake PCN in front of other customers at a busy time! Anyway (sorry but) what's wrong with just reading the sticky threads on a forum? I have already written one called 'Successful complaints about PPCs' so am not repeating all the advice there on other individual threads as well! Sticky threads are at the top of any forum and here they are crucial for Newbies to read - the 'how to complain' one is among those collated by Crabman.
Is there a template for PCN for "not displaying ticket clearly" ?

Why would there be, when what happened doesn't matter? The first appeal template is written for all cases about the issues that do matter. Trouble is you won't get POPLA and you WILL NOT win at second appeal stage, because VCS are now in the IPC, who fail to offer an independent appeals service despite offering something they call the 'Independent Appeals Service'!

So...read the NEWBIES thread post #3 all about IAS. Please don't ask if that means you pay...obvs not!

    Hello !
As stated earlier, I received 2 tickets
Appealed one - It got rejected. But received no code for further appeal
Didn't appeal on the second one as I missed the deadline and then didn't go forward with it.

Now I have received letters from Rossendales and I am responding by sending a letter based on the template provided by zzzLazyDaisy

Once this is sent, should I just wait till something like a LBC happens (if at all) ?

    Thanks again.
