uPVC door with no central bar - how secure?

Is a uPVC door (for back of house) which has no central bar (just double glazing the full length of the door), any less secure than a uPVC door which also has a horizontal uPVC bar in the centre?
Does the central uPVC bar it stronger, so more difficult to break into?
Or is there very little difference?
Thanks
