Hi - absolutely things settle down and you move to the next phase of living with your dmp - I'm not going to lie, there have been moments where I've been completely tripped up by something or panicking but nothing like pre-dmp - absolutely nothing like it. I sleep so much better, I am planning for the future (cautiously as I sometimes still can't believe I'll be debt free one day!) but yes it feels marvellous and I feel really proud of myself and you will feel that way too, soon, I absolutely promise you. You're doing great.Debt at highest - June 2013 - 26k/ March 2018 - 2500
Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Haven't updated my diary for a bit have been really busy working hard and looking after my two gorgeous but naughty boys!!
On the DMP front things have been fairly quiet (maybe a little too quiet, I'm not sure). The first payment went to SC on the 10th. I know there has been discussion on the DMP support thread about phoning creditors but I could not stand the not knowing so I am glad we did phone them last week but do take on board the fact that we should get back up in writing. Anyhow got a statement from BC today and they have frozen interest as they said they would so really please with this. Spoke to Halifax who said they initially rejected the DMP because we were not in arrears with them (our current account was with them so we kept those ccs up to date last month). They asked us to ask SC to send the documentation through regarding the DMP and would look at it again so fingers crossed but not holding out much hope. I get charged £100 a month interest with them so will be challenging this if they don't agree to freeze the interest.
Feeling much more positive this week and the DMP has started to take a back seat in the mind which is nice relief. I can't help but think that something will go wrong somewhere but I am sure this will settle in time. Budget wise we are doing fine, we have an abroad holiday booked and paid for in August, which to be honest I feel guilty about, but we paid for it out of some overtime hubby did last year so have decided to go as it will be our last abroad holiday for some time and we haven't been abroad for years (last 3 years camping in rainy freezing cornwall!!). Anyway it is going to be tough saving some spending money but both of us are busy working overtime so hopefully we should be OK. We are watching every penny and are managing to put some away each week.
Hope everyone is Ok in DMP land and enjoy the weekend. :rotfl:[STRIKE][/STRIKE]LBM January 2015:(
