Horns on a uPVC window frame.

Options
When replacing sash window frames with a uPVC frame which isn't a sash, but appears of similar dimensions to a sash, it's possible to have horns added to the uPVC frame to resemble the horns of a traditional sash frame.

Are there any problems with these uPVC horns, which someone considering having them installed should be aware of? For example, perhaps are they easily broken?

Thanks

Those are upvc sash windows the way i read this is that the op wants normal upvc windows that look like sash but are normal casement windows .The screw horns are not much good in my opinion we prefer it were the profile is routed to look like a sash horn which our supplier does

Yes, this is what I meant.

    What are screw horns?

Routed, does this apply to uPVC or timber only? Do you mean the horns are all moulded as one piece with the frame as opposed to being attached via a screw?

    Thanks!
  • i am refering to upvc and the upright of the opener is routed with the horn on and cover stuck over the raw edge rather than horn cap screwed to sash
