Switch to credit meter

Im currently on a prepayment meter but want to change to credit and pay by direct debit each month. I dont want to go through a credit check or pay for new meters. Im currently with British gas and didnt know wether to stay with them and get the meters changed and then switch?
Help im so confussed!

    I think the first question is to ask yourself whether you will be able to budget for energy on credit.

    If your happy that you can manage then it would be useful if you could go over a years worth of bills and work out separately for gas and electric how many KW you use per year for gas and also for electric.

    Armed with this info, input it into a uswitch type comparison site and see who seems best for you.

    Ring that supplier and check if they are happy to switch you and change to credit meters at no cost to you
