Odd search on credit file

Hi all,
I've just checked my Noddle report and there is an odd search on it.
It's against a previous address in my maiden name by an insurance company I don't even use. It was done last September but I only have one insurance product and that renews in July (I did double check who 'owns' the company I am with and it isn't the one who did the search). I haven't been using any comparison sites or looking for a better deal so no idea why this insurance company should be checking on me.
One other odd thing is they have my date of birth wrong on the search, (it's correct on my file) only by a day but wrong none the less.
I've lodged a query with Noddle regarding this but I'm curious if anyone else has found rogue checks and is it anything to worry about?
