omega plus.... browser hijacker

on my mates computer .......uninstalled in control panel, ran malwarebytes...... placed internet explorer think its 11 an windows 8 acer laptop in internet options .... restarted when i pressed i.e icon still got omega + how do you get rid of it?

this is a really persistent PITA, often takes several goes to remove completely :mad:

i had a similar problem with snap do a few months ago on the same guys older computer..... however this is a windows 8 computer that im not to familiar with.....will be good practice for me

When cleared it may be worth while getting him to use adblock plus and firefox, or the same if IE and Chrome. If he has java installed get rid of it, add noscript to firefox (needs a bit of perserverance to get used to and to train it) and use MVPS hosts (or hpHosts which is a bit more severe). It may also pay to use unclicky , and tell him to read what he clicks allow to.
