Land enclosed but not shown on title deeds

I bought my property in 2013. It is in the corner of a cul de sac. It backs onto a public footpath. There is a small area of around 1.5 x 1.5m which juts out from the main plot. This is enclosed by the fence that runs around my garden. It looks like this has been enclosed for many years as the fencing in this area is pretty rotten. This area adjoins my next door neighbour (in the cul de sac) and also adjoins the property of a neighbour in a different street whose garden is perpendicular to mine.
On the title deeds the area is not shown as belonging to my property. It appears to have been a small parcel of public land which sat between my property and the property on a different street which (now) partially adjoins my boundary.
When I bought the property it had an old shed in this area which the previous owner said she'd never opened. She purchased about 4 or 5 years ago. I spoke to the lady who lives next door to me who has been here since the properties were first built in the late 70s. She has no recollection of the situation ever being different. I've not spoken to the neighbour in the different street.
I have no plans to sell in the short term but I would like to get the land 'officially' incorporated into my title deeds if possible. Can anyone advise whether this is possible and, if so, the process involved?
Thank you.

1) Do a Map Search of the Land Registry to see if the land is subject to a seperate Title (or part of a neighbour's Title.
2) Look into Adverse Possession0 -
Thanks G_M.
I've looked at the Map Search but the properties and boundaries are not shown when fully zoomed in. When I've zoomed out enough that they appear it's not possible to identify the parcel of land - it seems obscured by the three boundary lines.
Am I misunderstanding how to use this?0 -

The service is unlikely to give you the definitive answer you want unless you buy the available title plans one at a time as the search result, I suspect, reveals a few properties that could inc the land.
The better bet is to complete a search of the index map by post. If you end up trying to claim the land under adverse possession you are going to need that guaranteed result to confirm whether it is registered or not as this can impact on how you complete any claim/registration“Official Company Representative
