I am considering starting online access to my Barclays bank account.
I note that I will need the Pinsentry device.
Is this device free?
Thanks

Yes - just applyNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

device is free so just apply for one0

IIRC, you need it only for some specific operations, e.g. setting up a new payee.anon_private wrote: »I am considering starting online access to my Barclays bank account.

You can use any device from any bank if you've got one already. I'm looking at 10 on the shelf next to me.0 -
They will send you the pinsentry device. Their mobile app has pinsentry built into it if you start using that you shouldn't need the device anymore0

Sure?...Their mobile app has pinsentry built into it if you start using that you shouldn't need the device anymore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.barclays.android.barclaysmobilebanking&hl=en_GBMake payments to people you’ve paid before and people in your payee list
This implies that the full functionality isn't built in.
And how can it be built in if it is supposed to work with card only?
If you mean log in only, then, as I said above, you can login on PC without the device if you wish.0 -

The app doesn't have full functionality e.g paying someone new has to be done via the website. However the app well generate the security code to login and complete the payment. It means you never really need the pinsentry device0
