please help us , PIP

Hello, some of you might read my last posts about friend who just giving 0 points for PIP and her DLA stoped. Today she went see her GP and she got good supporting letter about her mental health issues, i have just seen her letter its quite good i belive, her GP wrote that she suffer from poor memory and concentration and hard for her to engage with people and she cant go out to busy places she get anxiety etc..I think those all should give her 2 points each atleast for lower care section of pip?washing cooking dressing engaging with people etc.. so my question is what you guy think is this good letter for Reconsideration or appeal? she has appoitnemnt with CAB next week. she already told the person who had assessment with but unfortunalty whatever she said they wrote opposite of what she said ,i.e she said she need promoting and remainding with dressing ,cooking etc..

  • Sadly this experience is all too common.
I hope your friend gets useful advice from CAB
  • Write a letter of appeal and get your MP involved.

    Update

My friend did ask for Reconsideration with help from CAB and they have awarded her lower rate Mobility but only 4 points for Daily living ,yesterday we did appeal to tribunal and sent all papers etc.. we asked for paper hearing i know its better if you go to hearing but she cant sit with group of people ,i have 3 question please if you guys can help.

1.how long it takes for paper hearing to be decided? i heard its much quicker than oral hearing? how many weeks or months take?do they realy read all papers or they just do what DWP ask them?

    2. is it true that sometimes DWP change thier own decision ?and award extra points before appeal?

3.if tribunal didnt change decision can my friend make new claim?even if she stayed on lower rate mobility?thanks
    thanks

no one can tell you how long an appeal will take. it just takes as long as it takes unfortunately.
the DWP do sometimes change a decision before it goes to appeal but it isn't very likely.
she can't make a new claim, but can ask for a supersession ( re assessment) if her condition has worsened. but be aware that they will look at the mobility component again at the same time

Do they ask for new evidence if she asks for supersession?do we have to fill in any forms?or they just arrange new medical with atos or capita for her?thanks
