We have lived next to a railway line for 20 years! You get use to the noise. Our last house was nearer the rail line, this house we have been in for 14 years is nearer the station. You get the occasional goods train early morning that you can hear and makes the house rumble. The only time it bothers me is when they do the nighttime maintenance annually, very noisy with the blokes not taking quietly!
