I have read and re-read loads of posts, but for completeness would like to ask whether the advice in Scotland is still to ignore - or is it best to write to Euro car parks?
The parking charge notice is for £70, or £40 if i pay by 1st Feb 2015. It states:
"on the 18/01/15 you were the registered keeper of the vehicle: ???????
Or you have been named by the registered keeper as the driver when there was a breach of terms and conditions of parking..
The parking charge notice has been issued because your vehicle exceeded the maximum free parking time".
The car park in question is totally free for 1 hour. Non return within 3 hours. There are no ticket machines.
I am the registered keeper but was not the one driving.
Am I still safe to just ignore all letter without any response?
Many thanks in advance.

If the registerd keeper lives in Scotland then the advice is to ignore. Only the driver is liable so the best way not to reveal who that was is not to make any contact the parking company, ever.
Expect debt collectors to send you some poor quality free bog paper or firelighters until they give up.
The only thing that should not be ignored are genuine court papers or letter before court action; very unlikely north of the border.

What are you hoping for? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Yep, you've got it! Write to them, they write back and it will encourage them into thinking you might likely pay if you're sounding concerned.
You're likely going to have to endure some (powerless) debt collector letters for a while, but they will dry up eventually! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
