next wrexham parking fine

On the 6-11-2014 I went to pop a parcel at next phone I didn't notice that I was parked over the white line.I noticed the parking attendant standing there and went into next at 11.35 then I came out at 11.40 and noticed a ticket on my car I went over to him and asked why and he laughed and said I was parked over the white line.the fine was £80.00.l wrote to UKPC and appealed which they wrote back and the parking charge was right and they would pass on my comments about the warden.I told them that I was intrapped and the fine was on fair.so I haven't paid the fine which they had reduced to £60.I have now received a letter off Debt Recovery Plus Ltd along for £160.00 so I rang them and if I paid it today it would be£120.00 I refused and had another letter saying that if I don't pay by 2-4-2015 they're going to go to creditors solicitors and I will have to go-to court and in big bould black it states A Court Judgment against you could seriously affect your ability to obtain credit in the future and I could have court costs add would be gratefully if anyone has any advice as I think I intrapped and it was unfairly:)

Ignore debt collectors - they can't take you to court, no matter what they say. We've been answering the same question almost every day, every week, every month for almost a decade.

The NEWBIES FAQ sticky was written specifically to avoid us repeating this ad nauseam - have a read of post #4 of the sticky and it will tell you everything you ever need to know about debt collectors in the context of private parking charges!

It's one page back from here, near the top of the forum list of current threads.

By the way - NEVER telephone debt collectors!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You have not recieved a fine.

You should read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES that tells you how to beat this scam. Unfortunately you have given away who was driving which would have made this easier to beat. All is not lost but you have made it harder for yourself by contacting the PPC.

Never ever ever 'phone a PPC and never respond to a windscreen ticket unless you are in a lease/hire car.

The debt collector can be ignored. You should never ever ever contact them. Everything you need to know is in the NEWBIES thread.

Did UKPC give you a PoPLA code? That's the silver bullet that will get this scam ticket killed off.

What's the expiry date for the POPLA code?

If it's prior to today, your question should be 'what would that have done for me.'

Answer - got rid of this charge from your life.

If your POPLA code has expired your options there are closed.

You now only really have two courses of action open to you:

    1. Ignore the debt collector - no phoning them, no writing to them, no nothing! They will continue to pester you with a number of letters, but hold your ground. Just keep them in a file. Do not ignore real court papers (which would have to come from the PPC! Not the debt collector) - come back if you get those - highly unlikely.

    2. Complain to the retailers on the retail park; try and find out who employed this outfit (it may not be any of the retailers, but the landowner). If it is a landowner, fire off a complaint to them.
