Which flight sim? (for specs) and what is the friend's budget?
For starters...

(need to add OS and wi-fi card).0 -
...and possibly an optical drive for the games...not a bad price though for the spec

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

If your friend is even a little technically minded and can hold a screwdriver, I'd recommend that he does a bit of research and builds his own PC for the use. Flight sims can run the whole gamut from running on an old and slow computer to needing many thousands to run smoothly. This way not only will he know what he needs to spend the money on, but if anything does go wrong he will be able to fix it himself.

Check out the chillblast website, there options are good and flexible, with up-to-date chips etc.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0

I suspect that his Flight sim is only a minor issue - will ask him tomorrow
I guess his budget is sub £300

Please confirm his budget first.0

Please confirm his budget first.
First he text me thus ...
The flight sim is Phoenix version 5 . Have done a bit of research and it does not need much to run it at all.
Think the new version of the pc that was recommended before is the Lenovo H30- 05 which is available from Amazon at 269
Then, when asked about budget he said "around the £300 mark"0 -

Many thanks, but I think he would prefer a 'ready to go' system
