cast iron cookware guarantee

I bought an enamelled cast iron pan from MrT Direct about 18 months ago. The makers gave a 10 year guarantee ( I have lost the form!) and the coating on the inside of the pan has been damaged , making the pan un-usable because bits of the enamel are coming off onto the food. I think I've already posted this somewhere. Mr T Direct say I need to contact the manufacturer to get a replacement pan. I thought that the 'seller' is responsible for replacing things under guarantee but could be wrong.

Your Sale of Goods Act rights are with the retailer.
A guarantee can be offered by either the seller or the manufacturer, but it's usually the manufacturer. It's an add-on to your statutory rights, not instead of them. You need to claim against whoever offered the guarantee. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
