Getting energy bills for estate agent

We moved into our new house on 26th December and took meter readings which we passed on to SSE.
We have had bills addressed to the estate agents for the period up until we moved in, including a letter saying about overdue payment.
Should I tell the energy supplier or just post these bills directly to the estate agents as we should not be responsible for these?

Did you buy or rent the house?I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

Just forward them to the estate agency. They are not your bills so you don't have to pay them.0

If you bought, then you are responsible for the bills from the date you completed - the date you actually moved in is irrelevant. As I doubt you completed on Boxing Day I'm guessing you had a gap between completion and moving in? Did you take meter readings on completion day?The house has been bought by us0 -
Good point, I didn't twig that the OP moved in on boxing day.0

We completed 23rd December and took Meter readings that day. We then moved in day after boxing day..sorry meant the 27th0 -
You moved in on 26/12. When did you complete?0

Forward the letters on to the EA. I expect the utility company are hoping the EA will know their forwarding address. Make sure you keep your meter readings just incase they are queried later.I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:0
