Should all accounts six years or older not drop off credit file? I have some settled accounts still on my file started in 2007

When were the accounts closed? Generally it'll go from the date they were closed.

If you opened it in 2007 and used it up until 2013, say, the info will drop off in 2019, IYSWIM.

Hi Leemuddywaters,

As Gordon Hose has said closed accounts come off the report six years from the date they were settled.

So although the accounts may have been over six years since they were started, they won't come off until six years after they were closed.

Having closed accounts on a report can help you get credit, as lenders can see that you have run accounts in the past.
