How to use this AEG hob?

Never used this kind of hob!

How do I make it work? If you can let me know the model spec than I may find a user manual online.

Thanx

Its an induction hob. You will need compatible pans. An easy test is one that attracts a magnet.

Prepare to be wowed by the speed.

As Ryder says, you need magnetic pans. Even if you do not have any now you can pick them up very cheaply these days. The likes of Argos and Dunelm will sell you a set of induction compatible pans very cheaply.

That model AEG is not one I recall. But if you look underneath the hob it should have a model number on a silver sticker. Once you find that, you may well be able to download an instruction manual from the AEG website.

Induction hobs take a bit of getting used to if you are used to ordinary electric ones. The heat is instant and because they only heat where there is a magnetic field they are also very energy efficient.

Once you get used to using it I am sure you will be very happy with it.

It probably wont turn on unless it detects a magnetic field!

We have an AEG induction hob though its a different model:

Turn it on on the mains: various lights should flash for a while
The power on is the circle with bar in the bottom right hand corner, the controls are touch sensitive
The four small circles control each hob

The AEG induction hob manuals are here but I cant see your one. Perhaps its an old model, AEG may be able to help. Suggest you read up on induction hobs, Google will help. They are in my view the best hobs you can get as the control especially at low settings is very precise.

Looking at that picture you turn it on by touching the P , then touching the circle that corresponds to the ring you want to use. The rings don't glow red, all you will hear is a hum which will decrease once the magnets detect a pan. This is why you have to use magnetic pans with good smooth bottoms

Not sure looking at the dials on how to control the temp, either the +/- or just by touching the circles???? Guess you need to try

The P symbol is not for turning it on.

See Linton's post above for the correct way to turn it on.

You can turn on the hob without a pan but you won't generate any heat until the magnets in the hob circuitry induct with your pan base.

You don't hear a hum, but low clicks.

Circle with vertical var - power
P - most likely to pause power or to boost power to a specific rung
select one of the 4 dots and then +/- to change power setting
key button - to lock hob for safety.

Like cddc try and locate the model number.
