I wonder if you can help.
Over 5 years ago i was made bankrupt and although I have since been cleared and bought a house etc I have never ever got any more credit (apart from my mortgage, which is actually a pretty big debt!)
I have a bank account and a solo card and have retrained myself in terms of not buying items unless i can afford them.
However - this year, I am going on holiday with a friend. We are going in Early september and its not going to be loads and loads of money, about £250 at most. The wages I will use to pay for it (i.e when I will have 'spare' cash) are paid to me on the 29th August. We are supposed to be going on the 5th Sept!
I do not know whether it is wise to get a credit card with a £250 limit, so I can book the holiday and then immediately pay it off. I think I can trust myself not to go beserk at the thought of credit. However, is there a credit card that is not incredibly high interest around? its been so long since I've had one and the variety has changed - I'm not sure what to do, can you advise?

How about the Capital One classic? They give a max credit limit of 2.5k and it is designed as a credit re-builder. APR isn't good though, which is the downside, but you might find it easy to be accepted. If you are paying it straight off though, you won't get charged the interest.
