hello everyone
we have a 6 week old baby and have not claimed his child benefit money yet - we wish to put this monthly payment straight into a long term investment plan - one where i can forget about the money for at least 10 years - more than likely as a Uni fund type of thing... BUT! Where to start??
all pointers ideally of specific products would be much appriciated - i dont mind a medium risk product as hope to maximise the potential growth of the money... i think child benefit is approx £15 per week.
many thanks,

do not do anything at this time.
The childrens trust fund is being launched in april 2005. Your child already qualifies from an endowment from the Govt and you can top this up tax free.
It is also a stakeholder based product so it will have low charges and be available in a range of investment areas from cash, corporate bonds, gilts right up to equities.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
