Credit card after Scottish Trust Deed

Has anyone had any experience of applying for a credit card after coming out of a Scottish Trust Deed. The reason I am looking to do this is not to run up more unmanageable debt - I have learned my lesson...NEVER EVER AGAIN !!
I was just looking to repair my credit file (Barclaycard`s Initial and Capital One`s Classic are in my mind for this very reason). My Trust Deed finished successfully after 3 years and I was relased from it a year ago. Since then I have successfully obtained a monthly mobile telephone contract with Vodafone (4 months ago).
Is it worth applying for one of these cards for credit repair purposes?...I do eventually wish to apply for a mortgage again (in time..)
Thanks.

Hi there
I've just come out of a trust deed in the last year and managed to get some small accounts (an online pet food store last December and then Next Directory in April). Having read up on everything, I decided my best hope was to try Vanquis - like you, just to build up my rating again. I applied online, it was referred but much to my amazement they did issue me with a Visa - limit of £250 - which I am paying off in full each month..
I can't see why you wouldn't get the same considering you've a few months with Vodafone on there. The main things I have learnt if you're interested are that the defaults will stay on my record for 6 years - so mainstream lending likely to be a problem till after that. Also not to run up too many credit searches - hence why I went straight for Vanquis rather than trying others and having them show up on my file.
Hope that helps - good luck!0
