UK is probably only country in the world where houses are not sold using floor space area!
1600 sq ft is a good size. But keep in mind that if you take out entrance, toilets etc. from calculation, the usable area is 70-75% of the total.
Compared to average houses in UK, even 1600 sq ft as super built up area is a good size.
However, with 3 grown up children, it might be a bit tight. Although it depends on some factors like lifestyle, how you arrange the rooms etc.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
Georga,
I think its going to depend on layout more than size. We have approx 1400 sq ft, which was a really nice size with 2 adults and 2 children. We're down to 1 child now and it's really larger than we need.
We have a formal Dining Room which is used rarely used, but our Family room is used constantly.
I'd say it's good to have decent sized bedrooms, so that the kids can have there own space, and room to store all the stuff that they come with.0 -
