    Always some sob story
Defending Mr Barratt, Milena Bennett said he had stolen the goods while 'self-medicating' psoriasis with cannabis and amphetamines.

How thick must you be to use Ebay? It leaves a trail that can be traced forever. They deserve getting locked up for sheer stupidity and laziness above and beyond the actual stealing.
    .
  • I bet they still refuse compensation to any seller who claims.

How thick do you need to be
    a) to come up with the excuse of using cannabis and amphetamines to manage psoriasis
    b) to actually incorporate it as a defense

Fully agree. If anything, it should count as further criminality and attract a more punitive sentence.
  • It always irritates me when they come up with this sort of defense:

"Defending Mr Barratt, Milena Bennett said he had stolen the goods while 'self-medicating' psoriasis with cannabis and amphetamines."

So it's OK to steal if you have confidence issues/depression/health problems is it?

    No, it bloody isn't!

Why does a defense solicitor ever go along these lines? Its pathetic.

Wonder if anyone has asked RM why it took two years to catch him stealing mail? Surely it shouldn't take 400 lost parcels to instigate an investigation!
  • Aka Not in a sound mind when committing the offense

That's why that defence is used and not:-

"my client is a thieving little toe-rag"
