UKCPS parking charge

Hi All,
So yesterday I recieved a charge when parked in a retail park disabled bay. I actually thought I had passed the disabled bays and the space I used was a mother and baby as I had my 1 year old with me. When I seen the ticket it was correct in that it was a disabled bay and so it was a lack of concentration really and I thought that it was fair and i should pay immediately. After seeing all of the topics about this subject it seems they are a bunch of scam artists and I would loathe to give a company like this money. The problem is I was clearly in the wrong so I am not sure if I have grounds to ignore the letters that are sure to follow.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

None of us condones parking in a disable bay without good cause, but we appreciate that mistakes happen. We absolutely don't condone anyone paying these scumsters a bean - that just gives them more funds to scam the next victim.
The good news is that your actual circumstances matter not one jot ... get yourself to the NEWBIES sticky thread (see my sig) for advice.

I have had a quick look at the thread and it seems like a large amount of information to take in and then follow up with appeals etc. If it was just a simple ignore the letters then I would consider it but it looks like I have a choice of completing the follow up actions or pay £60 now.0

The first appeal you send is already written for you - you can copy and paste it exactly as it is. (You can delete the "rant" section at the bottom if you wish, the part about claiming costs back etc.)
So the work you need to do at the moment is minuscule. If they reject the initial appeal then the next appeal isn't a huge amount of work. (Although as UKCPS are IPC members then the next appeal may be a waste of time anyway).
BUT ... do not do ANYTHING until you get the notice to keeper through the post. DO NOT appeal against the windscreen ticket (unless this was not your vehicle - e.g. it is a lease or company car). Then appeal the NtK - if (when) they reject the appeal then go into Ignore mode and just sit and collect all the letters they and their tame debt collector cronies will send; they'll eventually go away, and the chances of you receiving a court claim are minimal.0 -
Ok will go with that approach thanks0

One last point - Does this have any impact on credit rating?0

Not at all, not even if you faced them in small claims, because these are defendable and even if you lose there is no CCJ. UKCPS are litigious so expect to have them pursue this - however it's not the end of the world and our advice is DO NOT PAY.
Any chance the retailer would step in if you ask? Try a complaint about this harassment and say you;ve found out this firm is litigious.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
