Are you moving money from inside the EU , if not will you say where from?0

One thing I have learnt in my recent account opening spree - banks seem to like seeing verifiable sources of income / deposits along with a UK tax status. Is this tripping the OP?0

The computer said no - live with a basic bank account or leave your money where it is. You don't fit the criteria at the moment and moaning about it will not change anything, apart from raise flags on your credit file for umpteem declined account applications, which ultimately will probably make getting the account you want even more difficult.0

I blame Herman Van Rumpoy. He's Belgian he takes the top job and doesn't sort out the issue of an EU credit rating system before leaving.
Knocking the heads of the numerous EU Credit bureaux together sounds like a job worthy of veneration, one of the few honours left to be given to him.
Trust is something that must be established . It cannot materialize from nothing. It appears if you change country you have to start from zero unless you are mega rich and can buy anything you want.

I've let my hopes slide of finding a better interest rate bank account, and will now focus on getting a mortgage - which in the short term might just mean building some history and getting a credit rating (as opposed to having a blank file).0
