Autobuyer - avoid at all costs if selling a car

What really made me laugh was the ridiculous argument that Motor Network put forward when they contacted me.
Apparently, the problem with sites like AutoTrader (so they explained) is that when people don't sell their cars quickly, they start reducing the price. This means that when I come to list my car and compare it to the prices of other cars on the site, I'm listing it at a lower price than its true value. Motor Network would not only sell my car (guaranteed, of course!!) but would sell it for MORE than I'd listed it for on Auto Trader.
Now, if you were in the market for a car and Auto Trader was full of adverts at £12,000 for example, why on earth would you go via Motor Network or Autobuyer and pay £13,000...???!!!0 -
They've now started emailing to try and con me. How fishy does this sound:
"Hello, Mate
I saw your advert when browsing the net, so I am Highly interested in this (Vehicle).
so kindly let me know the condition and the last price to it. include your
contact number when you reply.I will send you a cheque upon agreement of
price.I am shipping this to dublin so already make an arrangement with the shipping company .
Mr James
Pls kindly reply back to jammyrick@yahoo.com
Looking forward to hearing from you .."
I like the generic hello mate as he can't be bothered to put each victims name.
He forgot to fill in his template with the actual car and just left "vehicle" in brackets.
He can put a capital letter on Highly but not on dublin.
He's sending me a cheque, made of rubber or elastic do you think? Would anyone actually fall for that?
And his grasp of English with "make" instead of "made" suggests he's very legit doesn't it? Shall I reply and string him along for a bit or just ignore it?
The one before that was great as well:

Hello,
I am Michael Kitt I would like to make an enquiry on the car you wish to sell.
Came across the ad you posted at Fish for cars and I am interested in making a purchase.
The details and pics posted really looks good;though I would appreciate if you can forward additional close-up pics especially of the engine bay and interior(back/front) shots to enable me firm up my mind on the purchase.
Also kindly let me know if the price of £2,500.00 posted in the ad is the last price you are willing to offer.
Looking forward to your mail.
Cheers,
Mike........"
"For the car you wish to sell", very specific! I also like the start "I am Michael Kitt". I replied with:
S'up, yo mickey kittey, no can do on d foto front, camera ko'd,
url av 2 firm ur mind wivout or wave byebye
price is as price duz
innit?
And for some inexplicable reason I haven't had a reply to that one.0
