Uninsured loss claim
Anyone know how long an uninsured loss claim takes? I was rear ended and car written off on 19th November 2014, TP admitted liability and a week or 2 later I received the cheque for the write off, including my excess (as TP's insurer had admitted liability).
For other uninsured expenses I used my legal cover to claim for the uninsured losses - the hire car, collision damage waiver, some items damaged in the accident, the full tank of fuel I'd just put in and a minor P.I claim (little bit of whiplash, back and shoulder pain, now all good, lasted until just after Christmas). Any idea how long it'll take?

Have you been sent for a medical exam by your appointed solicitors yet?0

Nope, they haven't even mentioned it.0

Excluding the PI then it should have been measured in weeks or a couple of months tops given liability wasnt an issue. The PI however changes the whole thing, especially if you havent even had the medical yet etc.0

Should I chase that then?0 -

When PI is involved the dynamics change. Whilst your representatives may be able to ask for a settlement towards these heads of claims the reality is that in most cases parties want things held back so that they can become a negotiation tool and also allows global offers to be made (ie all elements under 1 number rather than broken down)0
