Denied Phone Contract Twice

Hi All,
A few years ago i got my first debit card and i thought i would get a phone contract in my name. I was declined by multiple phone providers and I thought this may have been to me having a brand new card (also my first). So i had tp used my mums card and just setup a standing order to give her the money each month.
Since then, just over a year ago i got a brand new car on finance. Everything was fine, no trouble at all.
A few months ago my phone contract was up for renewall again and i wanted to put it back under my name and my card. However, i kept on getting denied again.
When i was speaking to the phone companies, they said it was a problem with my bank, so i called the bank and they said everything was fine, its the mobile companies problem. So when i changed bank, i thought this might solve the problem as well. No. The same problem continued and now i have had to get the phone under my mums name again.....
FYI - I have now 3 direct debits on my account. My car, Paypal and the lottery. I have never paid late, i do not believe in being overdrawn and if you ask all my friends, they would say i am a tight b#@%*&d.
What could be the problem and how could i solve it?

The issue of being refused a contract is entirely separate from your card. It sounds as if your lack of credit history is causing the refusal.
It would be a good idea to get a credit card and use that regularly, paying off in full each month, to build up some credit history.0
