The problem is evidence. Everyone can claim they didnt know. it is what the evidence suggests that matters. Around half of all PPI complaints dont even have PPI. Yet those complaint letters all say that they didnt know they had it or were told they had to have it. Some even say both which is daft.
You can be mis-sold and not get a mis-sale complaint upheld because of lack of evidence. Equally, you can be sold correctly and still be paid redress because of auto-payout or a technicality or unrelated error.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
