Oh dear lord, this is a disaster for productivity!

Why wouldn't this work on Macs? It's web based. It was very very easy (and oddly clever) to set it up. Scanning the QR code from within the Whatsapp app magically loaded my profile onto the site

Maybe greedy Apple hasn't worked out a way to charge its customers like they do for most things?

Works on Apple Macs just fine I'm afraid.

The desktop version requires you to have a mobile version though and the iOS version doesnt support this. So if you have an Apple PC but an Android mobile it will work. If you have a Windows PC but an iPhone it wont work

I suppose they were desperate to get this on the desktop as they were losing some ground to Viber, which, IMO, is much better than WhatsApp and has worked brilliantly on the desktop for a long time... -

I agree. Also from VIBER phone/desktop you can make free internet phone calls. But not from 'Whats App'

It's kind of like MSN instant messaging has come full circle; people used instant messaging services, switched to mobile services, now they're switching back to desktop.
