Thank you all for your advice and support.
Please bear in mind that I DID contravene the rules under which you may park, by not noticing when the wind blew my permit onto the floor and into invisibility. The charge is legitimate.
My frustration and anger arises from Link Parking's lack of leniency or understanding, coupled with the fact that they monitor this parking solely in order to keep spaces free for us who live there!
    Hey-ho, pay up time.
Needless to say, I have a permit PERMANENTLY attached to my windscreen now!
    Best wishes.

Are you seriously considering paying this fake unenforceable invoice?

They made up a bunch of rules deliberately designed to entrap you. The charge is not legitimate. I have no idea why you would think otherwise.
The Parking Prankster sells a very cheap court guide, well worth the money, that will probably see these clowns off in court.

I think you would win in court. It is your choice. Throw your money down the drain or try your hand in court and make a profit.
I married my cousin. I had to...

Well I did not expect to get Bullied, harassed, threatened and abused on this website!
    Shame on you!
No one demanded that you reply for my request for advice, so shut up if you don't like it if I choose not to take it.

I hardly think //you// would follow all advice given here, regardless!

For the record, Ralphy-y, Umkomaas, and Fruitcake, you are all factually wrong in your last posts, quite apart from the throughly unpleasant content as listed above.
You do a great disservice to the other posters who help with reasonable and useful advice.

What you all have failed to accept is that there are clear rules about being allowed to park in Visitor slots (where the PCN was issued), and I did not follow them, (as the permit was not visibly displayed).
My problem with the PCN was that it was unfair as I had attempted to display and was foiled by a freak of weather. So I was hoping for leniency and understanding, and being let off.
It's the difference between the letter and the spirit of the law.
Is that so hard for you to understand? It seems so for you three!

What you have failed to grasp is that the "punishment" does not fit the "crime" Why would you pay all that money over to them just for breaking one of their made-up rules?

Could you please tell me which 'law' has been broken?

Also which 'clear rules' are you referring to?

I should like to know the exact Regulation which has been contravened and the date it was approved by Parliament into UK Law.

    OK,
Nodding D I never claimed to know it all.
    Trisontana: because I Contracted to.
Iceweasel: 'the letter and the spirit of the law' is a well -known expression. The Rule [which you acknowledge it is] is in my Lease.

    So, 3-0!
I think we all have better things to do. Bye.

An apology from you for wasting everyone's time would be nice. Just pay up and that will be the end of it. Then the members on here can concentrate on helping those who want to be helped.

    1. But you clearly know better than us.
    2. And what is the remedy for breaching a contract with regard to Contract Law in this country? It certainly isn't an arbitrary charge made up by one of the contracting parties.
    3. Your lease states that you owe some third party (who are not a party to the lease itself) £100 if you break a rule on one of their signs?

You should be sacking the solicitor who you used to buy the property if he advised signing that.

My advice? Pay up and stop wasting people's time.

John, what we are trying to tell you is that, for breaking the contract with the PPC, does not warrant the large sum of money that the PPC is asking you to pay!
The legal remedy for breach of contract is to put the injured party back into the position he would have been had you not breached the contract!
In other words you do not owe the PPC any money at all!

You are wanting to pay up when you do not need to, thus encouraging the PPC to scam other residents!
