Didn't have time to do meter readings or an online food shop, so they will have to roll over until tomorrow. The meter readings won't be a problem, though the Tesco online shop might be, as I get home, get changed, leave the house 15 mins later for the gym!
By the time I get home at around 8pm, have showered, eaten, dried and straightened my hair it's time for bed. And Wednesday is exactly the same! Hopefully we can scrape by with what's in the cupboards until Friday, as will do order Thursday for Friday delivery. Cat will probably need food by thenOr I might find time to do it, miracles do happen!
Avon order came today... £16.50last of my January splurge has finally arrived. No more buying! I spent all day deleting emails from companies offering discounts, and sales and one time only offers. Didn't even open them. They are NOT my friends! Determined to get on top of this, this month.
Found a posh face cream this morning in my lotions and potions stash. I have one completely unopened and one I tried once, and discovered I hate it! So I'm going to chuck them on ebay this week first chance I get. Even if I only get a £1 for them, I'd rather have that than the reminders in my cupboard of my splurging
Also realised I can claim for a Uniform Tax Rebate, as I wash my uniform at home. Hopefully will get something for that, which I can chuck at a debt.
I'm so full of cake right now, so I'm going to roll off to bed! Night allLooking forward to a bright new day debt busting and working towards financial freedom xx

Fab to read you have chipped away at some of the debt - I love reading the successes! I started my diary / savings plan last week; just to get an emergency pot started and up to £600 by the end of the year. I was stunned when I went through everything how much I was wasting, its so shameful :-(
Buttttt... the sooner you know, the sooner you can tackle and get to goal, right? My plan is to get my emergency fund full this year then next year start tackling the "debt free for 40 plan" although I am terrified of running a credit check TBH so I have no idea how much I owe.
Congrats on your success doll... keep us posted!Goal to Clear Debts £4592 Total Progress since 03/10/2020 £2802

Thank you for the lovely reply juicyjackieb (JJB)
I'm currently filling an emergency savings pot, whilst keeping the debt busting going too. I would like £1000 in the EF, but I'm only putting £50 a month in at the moment, so at this speed it will take me a little while :rotfl:
You must post me in the direction of your diary please luvvy, so I can keep up with what you are getting up to! Together we can motivate each other
I am so wasterful as well, I'm going to start logging my spends in my diary and maybe on a spreadsheet too, then can add it up at the end of the month and see the damage...
And on that note, I have spent today:
£2.80 for a sandwich, as the turkey in mine from home tasted funny when I bit into it
£1.85 ATM charge  only one near to work though
£16.50 Avon need to give this to SIL at the gym tonight
I did however resist the urge to buy a magazine (or 3), so chuffed with myself for that
Right lunch is over, so I had best get back to the grindstone!0 -
Hello again :j
Just a thought, could you not have used your debit card within the shop rather than paying such a silly amount for a withdrawal. Any way of saving money is good I suppose.
Hopefully that creams sells and you get some of your money back.

Don't worry MrMCF, I didn't have a senior moment! The shop won't accept cards, cash only, so you have to use their ATM which cheekily charges £1.85 a pop, clever aren't they?
I didn't go to the gym tonight in the end, SIL said her knee was hurting so she is resting tonight, ready for Body HIIT tomorrow
So I've got my grocery shop done, coming tomorrow from Tesco's £41.82 spent. This goes onto the Santander 123 CC we have to get the cashback on our food and fuel purchases. It repays in full each month.
Who is your joint account with MrCF for your house DD's? Only ask as ours is with Santander and we get cashback on most of our bills and the mobile phone bills. All from just paying it from that account. Thought you might be interested
I've got LO's from dinner tonight for my lunch tomorrow. I have to stay til all the work is done too, should finish at 5 but we rarely do (joys of working in a hospital lol), so might get a spot of OT. Got an hour last week :rotfl:
Right, I'm off to play with this snowball calculator, be back later!0 -
   according to the Snowball Calculator, at the current rate I am paying off my debts my DFD is February 2018 or 37 months away
Well now I have something to aim at and beatI'm not having that! 37 months is far too long to be suckered with debt. Hmmm, I wonder if I could crack it in 24? or maybe even less...
Well now, haven't I got a lot to think about???0 -
Bit chilly this morning! Anybody got snow? None here yet....
Yesterday was so busy, didn't get a chance to get on here, though everyone will be pleased to know it was a NSD! I took my lunch to work, then after work went to the gym, which I paid for upfront last year. Oh, and the food shopping got delivered, total cost was actually £41.93. Think my loose carrots and bananas must have been a few pence more than predicted. I can cope with a few pence difference!
I'm slacking a bit on my DFW goals front. I need to write what I already do, and what more I can do. I need to identify if there is anything I can do right now to make some chunks of money to throw at the debts. Already identified Uniform Tax Rebate, and selling a few bits on e-bay, to raise some extra cash.
My pet insurance will be due up in May so can go through TCB or Quidco which I did last year and hopefully get a good bit of cashback
Does anyone have any other ideas? OT is a bit of a struggle where I work, though I have got 2 weekends (OT for me)coming up. They changed the system last year, so it's not as lucrative now, though it will still make a bit of a boost to my pay.
Today should be a NSD too, I'm at work all day and have made my lunch to take with me. This evening I have no plans, just make dinner and pootle around the house.
Have a lovely day all, see you later xx0 -
Hello.
Attempted to quote but it didn't work on my phone so have given up on that.
To save money on your water bill, have you ever considered showering at the gym. If your gym has a shower of course (i imagine they all do nowadays).
Also... check out information on the uniform tax rebate as it can go back several years. Depending on your job, you can also get money back for footwear, socks and your job registration. It's not heaps of money but it certainly helps those of us in our position.
Good luck with your journey. I'm afraid I'm more of a lurker on diaries than a poster but I will keep noseying every now and again.

That is shocking. Having to pay to get your ow money out of the bank. I've never seen an ATM like that before. Maybe they welcome the spending where I live :rotfl:
It's with BOS just because it made things easier when we took out the mortgage. I've heard about the Santander account however I wouldn't go with them as I had a shocking service from them a few years back.
Well done on the NSD's, it's an awesome feeling when you don't spend anything.
Great idea from Stewby about showering at the gym. I do the same at work sometimes.

Thanks for delurking Stweby! Good idea about using the shower at the gym, how had I never thought of that?! There's a template letter on the shared drive at work about the Uniform Tax rebate, as few others have done it, and you are right, you can go back a few years with the claim. I'd be happy for any return on my money at this moment in time! 37 months is far too long to be debt!MrCrimeFiction wrote: »That is shocking. Having to pay to get your ow money out of the bank. Yeah it's daylight robbery that ATM, I know of a few others in my area that do it as well...have a mental map in my head of the "safe" ones to use!
Not a NSD day, had to put £2 in for milk fund at work, but that's been my only spend. I had a very biscuit-y day todaydiet well and truly out of the window at the moment  gym tomorrow to try and work some of it off.
Managed to resist the lure of a take-away, really wanted Dominos, work has been horrendous and I'm so tired and I just wanted to eat yummy junk that involved no cooking!!! So I've probably just saved myself about £20 right there, badgered OH to make a bolognase instead
Also declined an invite to go Bingo with SIL and MIL, too tired and I'm not kidding when I say I NEVER win.
I've heard a lot of people say they have had a bad experience with Santander, I've had one account or another with them since I was 16 and they've been fine, no complaints, and actually been very helpful! Am I in an alternate dimension or something?!?!
FRIDAY TOMORROW, WOHOOO!0
