OP, I am on your side, but recheck the story about higher than average miles due to motorway miles. Why then are there classic rub marks from mucho entry and exit to the back seat? The other possibility is a repair to the back arch and the paint is thinner as the painter washed it out as it wouldn't be too visible with the door closed.
Worth having locally repaired by a recommended paintshop if you are keeping it, it is a strong colour (if you keep it clean!).
I got hold of the previous owners number and he told me himself that it was his repmobile and he spent most of his life on.motorway.
The wear to the seats indicates this to be true as there is hardly any if not one to the passenger and rear seats.
He only chopped it in as he was getting a new kuga.0 -
There is very slight denting to the wheel arch below this but nothing on the door or surrounding area0

Just looks like something was banged quite heavily against the arch whilst moving it in or out of the back seat.0

Did you ask the previous owner?
I'd go back to Ford and ask them to sort it.0
