OK but I have moved homes a few times now and with different companies and a water meter wasn't ever forced upon me...?

The operative word is 'can'. Not all enforce their right. But if they do, you have no power to stop them.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • OK, Thanks

So I will get the pressure gauge and what if its normal or low?

I just want to know ultimately what my options are...

    Thanks!

Have a look at this guide:

    http://www.ofwat.gov.uk/consumerissues/rightsresponsibilities/standards/gud_pro_gss08.pdf

The minimum pressure that the water companies are required to provide is actually quite low.

Most water companies set a minimum target of 1 bar.

Who installed a combi without checking water pressure and flow rate first? You need to speak to them unless it has dropped since they installed it.

If they can't get basic stuff like that right I do wonder sometimes.:(
  • I have read that link and it states that minimum of 0.7 bar which is pretty low. I also read on the Affinity water website that they pay you £25 if the water pressure drops below this on two occasions and they only pay this once in a year....Peanuts! I just want the pressure to be sorted!

A local plumber installed the boiler but I don't have contact with him anymore. That avenue isn't an option....
  • Can someone please advise me?

    Thanks
